Playcircle Community Interest Company
Playcircle is a Gloucstershire based community interest company creating creative experiences for young children and their families.
We believe the early years deserve spaces that are welcoming and rooted in safe and playful relationships. Through live music, story and shared play, we aim to bring families together in ways that support children's development, nurture parent–child relationships and create opportunities for community and belonging.
Alongside our weekly sessions, we offer pop up community events and enjoy festivals and creative projects that celebrate the value of live music and play.
Early days...

The Playcircle journey began fifteen years ago with a simple aim - to set up a parent and baby group that would bring together creative sensory play, music, singing and movement in a session that was inspiring, enriching and meaningful to both the child and care giver.
Armed with a teapot, an armful of instruments, a few scarves and a bear and a mouse that we found in a local charity shop, we began our very first group with a handful of enthusiastic mummy friends who were willing to be our guinea pigs. Together, we created a safe space where music and stories could be shared and we invited each other to join in freely and confidently in building adventurous and imaginative play. The focus was on creating a shared experience for all, which encouraged caring and loving interactions with our little people whilst supporting and looking after each other as well.
After the initial months of just us, our babies and 4 or 5 other mummies, our little play circle began to grow. The singing grew louder, the play more vibrant and the sessions felt fuller and more nourishing. We felt a real need for this group, a welcoming circle of friends. The Playcircle Family.​
Our team
Over time, our team has grown into a rich mix of practitioners, artists and parents. Between us, we bring experience from mainstream and Steiner education, special educational needs, play therapy, music therapy, early years practice, creative arts, writing, composing, performance and community work.

As Playcircle evolves so too has our creative work. What began as songs shared in sessions has grown into original recordings, community projects and the Playcircle Band!
We're always growing, learning, and welcoming new collaborators, while staying rooted in the values that inspired Playcircle from the very beginning.
